Managing Workplace Conflict for Care Managers & Care Supervisors
Aim
To develop the knowledge, confidence, and practical skills needed to recognise, manage, and resolve workplace conflict effectively within health and social care settings, promoting positive working relationships and high standards of care.
Objective
By the end of the course participants will:
- Understand the nature, causes, and triggers of conflict within health and social care environments
- Recognise the impact workplace conflict can have on staff wellbeing, team morale, communication, service users, and quality of care
- Identify their own preferred style for dealing with conflict and understand how different approaches can influence outcomes
- Develop the skills to respond appropriately and professionally to challenging situations and workplace disagreements
- Learn a range of conflict management techniques including active listening, effective communication, problem-solving, and mediation approaches
- Gain confidence in handling difficult conversations constructively and maintaining professional boundaries
- Understand the importance of early intervention and maintaining a positive and respectful workplace culture
- Recognise when to escalate concerns in line with organisational policies and procedures
